Procurement awareness workshops

Effective procurement is a cross-functional activity. Everybody who influences or makes procurement decisions should have an awareness of how to apply good procurement practices. This includes all those involved in the process of selecting, evaluating and managing suppliers.

We deliver this workshop as one day or two-day event depending on each client’s needs. Many clients find it an extremely valuable aid to help non-procurement professionals achieve better value-for-money.

Contract performance / supplier relationship management workshops

Whilst a good contract is a valuable asset, on its own it does not necessarily achieve good supplier performance. Strong and productive supplier relationships are critical to achieving value for all involved.

For the Meat Hygiene Service, part of the Food Standards Agency, we designed and delivered a two-day Contract Management workshop. Our aim was to increase the ability of Area Managers to manage a range of service providers supplying over £20 million of veterinary services. This is a critical activity with the safety of the public a key requirement.

Commissioning lifecycle workshops

Those heavily involved in procuring goods and services must continuously develop and refresh their skills.

For a London Borough we designed and delivered a series of four workshops that covered the whole procurement process. To evaluate their impact we asked participants to demonstrate how they had applied what they had learnt.

Workshops included:

  • Developing a Business Case and Specification
  • Tendering and Selecting the Supplier
  • Managing and Measuring Supplier Performance
  • Managing the Commissioning Process
